Mike Lewer

As the second-generation leader of Lewer Companies, Michael Lewer has worked diligently to uphold the passion, selflessness, and work ethic established by his father, D.C. Lewer. As CEO of Lewer Companies and Chairman of the Board for Lewer Life Insurance Company, Mike has expanded the company’s “people first culture,” ensuring thoughtful consideration of not only employees and clients, but all partners and entities the organization engages with.

Mike began his career with Lewer Companies in 1973. In 1978, he expanded the company’s reach by moving to Canada and establishing Lewer Canada. He later returned to the U.S. headquarters, where he held key leadership roles across the organization.

In 1999, Mike left Lewer to become President and Managing Partner of Trabon Solutions, a successful software company. Then, when Mike’s father retired in 2004, he returned to guide Lewer’s next chapter. Under Mike’s leadership, the company officially acquired Lewer Canada in 2013, strengthening its international presence.

With more than 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mike provides deep expertise in everything he does. He leads by example and says to “never forget that building a successful business is a marathon, not a spring.” 

Mike earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Rockhurst College and holds multiple insurance licenses, beginning with his first Missouri agent license in 1974.
